South Carolina Clinical Mental Health Counselors Association (SCCMHCA) is a chapter of our national organization, the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). We are striving to be the leading South Carolina organization for clinical mental health counselors. SCCMHCA will be the go-to organization for LPCs and other mental health professionals for education, advocacy, leadership, and collaboration. Our organization provides the backbone of skills and resources needed for clinical mental health counselors to thrive in today's world.

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Robin Reynolds, MA, LPC, LPC-S, BC-TMH

Dear SCCHCA Members,

Welcome to the first edition of our SCHCA quarterly newsletter.

As I step into the role of President of the South Carolina Clinical Mental Health Counselors Association, I reflect on the incredible work that clinical mental health counselors across our state do every day. Much of what we do happens quietly,-one conversation, one moment of understanding, one step toward healing at a time. Yet the impact of that work reaches far beyond the counseling room.

"One moment of understanding, one step toward healing."

This magazine is one small way we hope to stay connected as a professional community.

Our goal is to create a space where we can share updates, highlight our members' accomplishments, and offer opportunities for learning and professional growth.

Over the coming year, the board is focused on strengthening three important areas;

• Supporting counselors through meaningful professional development

• Advocating for the counseling profession across South Carolina

• Building a stronger sense of community among our members

Whether you are early in your career or have been practicing for decades, we want SCCHCA to be a place where you feel supported, valued, and connected.

Counseling can sometimes feel like solitary work, but none of us is doing this alone. We are part of a profession committed to helping others find hope, healing, and resilience. It is a privilege to serve alongside so many dedicated professionals.

Thank you for the work you do every day and for being part of SCCHCA. I look forward to the year ahead and to continuing to grow this community together.

Robin Reynolds

MA, LPC, LPC-S, BC-TH,

SCCMHCA President
