A fulfilling life is often framed as one of happiness or meaning but emerging research suggests a third dimension: psychological richness. A psychologically rich life is marked by variety, complexity, perspective-shifting experiences, and personal growth, even in the face of challenges.
This workshop will explore how clinicians can integrate the concept of psychological richness into their own lives and clinical work. Participants will examine evidence-based strategies that promote curiosity, openness, and resilience, while also learning how to help clients cultivate richer experiences that foster flexibility, growth, and well-being.
Through a power point presentation with interactive discussion and practical exercises, attendees will discover ways to shift from purely symptom-reduction models toward approaches that also enhance depth, vitality, and meaning in everyday life.
Learning Objectives
Objective 1: Define the concept of psychological richness and differentiate it from happiness and meaning.
Objective 2: Identify at least three clinical strategies to foster psychological richness in clients.
Objective 3: Apply self-reflective practices to increase personal psychological richness as a clinician.
Objective 4: Integrate psychological richness principles into treatment planning and client goal setting.
